Richard Leigh’s new song cycle of settings of 3 Wilfred Owen poems – Cold Star Lighting.
Premiere – November 8th, 2015, Derngate Theatre Northampton, 2pm, as part of – A Day to Remember, which commemorates the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War and explores the legacy of the conflict on the town.

Highlighting the impact and legacy of war on Northampton, the final season of events culminates with this commissioned performance.

Royal & Derngate , in association with Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust and Writing East Midlands, presents a new commission to commemorate the young men of Northampton who fought in the battle of Auber’s Ridge.

Featuring the voice of NMPAT alumni, singer – Nicolas Moodie, NMPAT string quartet and John Draper (guitar), nationally acclaimed performance poet Toby Thompson (RSC, Bristol Old Vic), breathes life into the memories of those who fought, fell and must never be forgotten.

Cold Star Lighting is dedicated to Richards friend and mentor, poet James (Jim) Hacobian (1921-2015)

This performance takes place on Remembrance Sunday.
